Ryan Kong "I Am a Butterfly"

I am a butterfly. It took me a long time to be a beautiful butterfly. Now I have gotten free. I can fly whenever I want and I can go wherever I want. Even though I am a weak thing, I am happy. I love floating in the air and like to suck sweet water from flowers. (Great!--If you can add a few more sentences to this, I will consider publishing it in NEW AND DIFFERENT VOICES lizine.blogspot.com!)

My close Russian friend, Mr. Pienkowski went on a wedding celebration trip to Tijuana, Mexico in summer with his family. He sent me a letter with a photo which was taken with his family in front of a window in^Bed and Breakfast Inn at noon. In the photo, his wife had some flowers which could be received from him and it seemed that his sincerity toutched her heart. They both seemed happy with fullness of love, but his son and cat both looked like boring. I think it must be bored to his son because it is not a trip for his son, but for^ wedding celebration.

Norma comparison

Sara and Tony both have a car, but their cars a very different, not only in brands, colors, and designs. Sara take cares^ his car, but Tony doesn’t. Their cars are sedan, have car top carrier, are Ford, but, the cars are very different; for example, Tony’s car looks in very bad conditions, the windows and the head light are broken, and the car is dented. Sara’s car looks like new. Use plurals for sedan, carrier, Ford

Tony's car and Sara's car( eunhyoungYoo)

Tony and Sara live in America. The public transportation is not developed well in America. So a person who doesn't have a car cannot move easily.
Tony and Sara have their cars. Both Tony and Sara have cars made by the same company, Ford.
Their cars have car top carriers because they have to load their big luggage. Their cars are sedans which have four wheels.
There are several differences that their cars have. One is color. Tony’s car is silver, but Sara’s car is black. Another is size. Tony’s car is bigger than Sara’s.
The most difference thing is condition; you can see that easily.
Tony’s car is very old. Moreover he didn’t fix his car. The window is cracked. The headlight is broken. Fenders seem to come off. He has to fix the car.
On the contrary, Sara’s car is new. The car is put in good order. Sara is washing her car every day so her car is bright always.
When you see Sara’s car, you will certainly like to ride in her car.

comparing and contrasting(park, chul hyun)

Tony and Sara have moved in Atlanta at the same time. Above all, they need a car. So, they went to a car dealer. Sara had $20,000, but Tony had only $2,000; therefore, Sara bought a new car, but Tony bought a used one. Both of their cars have several similarities; they are made by Ford, the same model, and have a car top carrier. However, at the same time, both of them have several differences; Sara's car is colored by brilliant red, but The painting of Tony's car peeled off completely. Sara's car has a good appearance. In contrast, Tony's car has a bad look; it has broken windows, broken headlights, a dented fender, and so on. But they are both happy to buy their own car.

Eunmi

I have two friends. Their names are Tony and Sara. There are three similarities and differences between them.

comparing & contrasting

There are two friends. One is Tony and the other is Sara. Both have a car. But their cars have some similarities and differences. The one of similarity that both are ^^same company, Ford. And both have a cartop carrier. Tony's car is color of white, big and old thing. But Tony's car is rusty. I think the car is a scrapped car. I wonder how the car is move. And the car's windows, fender, headlights are broken. In addition, he even made an accident yesterday. Maybe, the car cannot run anymore. On the other hand, Sara bought a new car just now. The car is brand new. The car is color of black and smaller than Tony's car. But this is no match for that. She washs her car everyday. She loves her car like pets.
I want^ get in her car. Tony want too, probably.

Ryan Kong(Similarities And Differences)

These are similarities and differences between Tony's and Sara's car. The first similarity is they are made by same company, Ford.^ Second thing is they are sedan style that have 4 doors.^ Last one is they both have cartop carriers, like luggage racks. On the other hand, they have several differences as well. Tony's car seems to be very old. It is dented around the car. Its head lights and car windows are broken. Moreover, the bumper of ^back part is, too. But, Sara's car seems to be^ well-controlled car. (I think you might say a well-maintained car.)

My brother's car. Pepe

I have two brothers, Carlos and Juan Pablo. Both of them have a car. Yesterday, I went to my parent's house. I saw my brothers' car(use plural); therefore, I want to tell about differences between them. Carlos, my older brother, has a nice car. He usually goes to ^car wash because he always wants to see his car clean. Carlos drives very carefully. Therefore, his car doesn't have any scratches. On the other hand, my brother Juan Pablo is messy. He never goes to the car wash. He doesn't care about his car, so his car has broken windows, and broken head lights. I told him, " Please, take care of your car, becouse is very nasty", and he was Ashamed. He swore he is gonna changes his car.

Atlanta is a nice place to live.

Atlanta, Lawrenceville is a nice place to live. (eunhyoung Yoo)

I think that Lawrenceville, Atlanta where I live in, is a nice place to live.
There are several reasons why I think so.
First of all, the scenery of Lawrenceville is good. There are a lot of trees, grass, and flowers. It is very clean and quiet.
Second, the weather is very good. It is clear, light, and mild. I like warm weather very much. So the weather of Atlanta is very nice to me.
In addition, the air is fresh, because Lawrenceville has many trees and few cars. The fresh air is good for our health.
I am a Korean. I want to eat Korean food easily. There are lots of Korean markets and Korean restaurants in Lawrenceville. This fact is pleasing.
The most important reason is that the price is cheap. I and my husband are students, so we can't work in here. We get our parents' help. So we have to save our money as much as possible. The price is importasnt for me. Apartment, food, and oil price are cheaper than Korea.

You Asked, by Yeimi

You asked me what I saw today,
and I said,
"I saw a flower sleeping in the garden,
I saw a girl swearing allegiance,
I saw a boy stealing the flower,
and I saw a flower dying for the love."

You asked me where I have been.
I replied,
"I have been in the white clouds, in the soft clouds, since the dark.
I have felt the wind in my face and
the freedom in my heart for one day."

And then you asked, "What do you hope for?"
I told you that I hoped for many things:
for the impossible love that everyone has,
for the invisible kiss that you never give,
and most of all,
for the dream about you that I hope it will be true.

I hoped to go to the bookstore that's why I forgot my composition book. But I don't know how to go to the bookstore. So I asked to my spouse, Eun Hyoung. "How can I go to the bookstore?" She said kindly "Oh, it's very easy. In front of O'keefe building, go down the TECHWOOD St. about one block, and you can find the stop signal. Then turn left, and go across the bridge on 5th St. about two block. After then, you can find the bookstore in the corner of northeast."

Last day I went to the bookstore, the BARNES & NOBLE, following my wife's direction. I started from O'keefe building to the bookstore. I walked under the clear blue sky. A slight air on my forehead is fresh and make(remember you are in the past tense) me feel good. Flower's(this is singular, so you need an article) odor filled the air. I walked along the techwood street, and stopped in front of (article)stop signal following my wife's direction. Then I turned left on 5th street and went over a bridge. There is Interstate highway 85, 75 under the bridge. Anyway when I went straight two blocks, I could find the bookstore, the BARNES & NOBLE on the cornor of northeast. I was so happy that's why the bookstore was very close from O'Keefe Building and very a nice place. There was a many books, large space for resting. It was a best place for reading and filling my intelligent demands. It was also a good place by air-conditioning system. After I entered into the bookstore, I went up the second floor. Then I searched (for)my composition book and found it. It was on the top of the shelves of the cornor of northeast. After I found my book, I made a phone call to my wife with happiness.

Prepositional Walk ( Gun-woo , Kim )

Two days ago, I took a walk and went to the Book store, Barnes & Nobles, from O'keefe building for doing a classwork.

2. walk strait on the techwood st.
3. make a left turn when you arrived at first signal.
4. take a 5th street.

Finally, I got there and spend a time with my friends with dringking cofee at the Star Bucks.

Ryan Kong(Preposition Walk)

Do You Know How to Get to the Bookstore? How can you get to the bookstore?
These are the directions for you to get there from the O'keefe Building. First, go straight one block on Techwood Drive. You can see the trees and clubs like fraternity along the street. After that, turn left onto Fifth Street. Next, go across the overpass and go straight 2 blocks. While you are walking, you'll be able to see some people who are sitting at the tables in front of restaurants. One of the most popular restaurants for my classmates is Tin Drum. You should try to eat Thai food there if you have not. It's on the right after you go across the overpass. Finally, you can find the bookstore on the right corner. It's next to the cafeteria, Starbucks.

Edgar (pepe) preposition walk

Yesterday, I went from the O'keefe building to Starbucks. I decided to walk there because I wanted a java chips frapucchino. When I left the O'keefe building, I went to Peachstreet, I passed the street and I saw the fraternity's building. Some guys were playing soccer when I went around the fraternity's building. I found 5th Street(use a comma here) and at the light I turned a left and I went over the I- 75 bridge. After that, I went right at the bridge and I found another light. I stopped for a moment and I looked down. Above me was the sun, which was too hot. I still walked straight and I saw a T-Mobile office at my left. At my right (use a comma here)I saw Tin Drum Asian cafe. When I finally got to Starbucks, I sat down with my java chips frapucchino. It Was good.

Andres Preposition

Today after class , I went from the o’keefe building to studies center , I saw many cars park on to sixth street , some ones was park on the left side others in the right side , I took first by sixth street an go down straight ahead until the intersection with the other street(On the right side GT baseball field). I used to ride the Stinger but this time I choose walk across the campus ,I could see some men working , one of them was driving a big machine , it had a large mechanical arm under the roof , and a couple of Mechanical legs in each sides. I saw that for 10 minutes. After that I walked across from some kinds of fraternities(punctuation?) I could see barbecues over the grown and many garbage under them. The next thing that I did , was stop and took air , I was without air ( maybe you mean out of breath) , while I was waiting , I heard sounds of birds , they are above me , on the tree ( Your biggest problem is that you have put too many phrases and clauses together without the proper punctuation or conjunctions. These are called run-on sentences. Go back and divide the long sentences into shorter groups. The ideas should go together logically. Then I will check this again.)

Yeimi Salazar "Preposition Walk"

Every day, I walk from the O'keefe Building to Midtown Station. When my classes are over, I meet with my friends. First, I go downstairs and I see many people sitting around the tables in front of O'keefe Building, they are eating lunche or just taking about the homework for the next day.

Some friends and I go to Starbucks before Midtown Station. We walk on Techwood street just one block, then we turn to the left on 5Th street. Sometimes we take the trolley, but when the weather is good we prefer to walk. We have to take the bridge before we take Tech Square. There are a lot of cars under the bridge because there is I-85 (need punctuation here)also we can see the traffic jam every afternoon because we always take the same way.

Then we walk across the street to the right, there is an Asian Food Restaurant the name is (take this out, add commas, and you will have an appositive)Tim Drum, so many people go there for take lunch. We walk along the Tech Square, there are some stores with big glasses like mirror, it's funny because when we go along the street there are many people looking the mirror while they walking.(run on sentence) Then we pass the traffic light and you can see the Bookstore in the corner. After that, you can see Starbucks, we always go there before to go to Midtown Station, there are some students studying or drinking coffee or smoking..(run on sentence) Next to Starbucks Pizz isa Ray's is delicious go to eat there if you are hungry. After 1 or 2 hours we continue walking to Midtown Station, we go straight to the next traffic light and then we turn on the left on Peachtree street, we walk 2 blocks on the right and in the next parking we must to turn on the right.(run on sentence) Finally we can see the Marta Station on the left in front to the parking.

Preposition Walk

The paragraph below shows how you can use the patterns we are studying:

Last Saturday, I went for a long walk from my house to the park. It was a nice day, so I decided to walk along the stream that runs by my house. On the way, I went past some children playing catch. One of them threw the ball across a small field, over the heads of the other children, and it fell in the stream. A girl stepped into the stream to get the ball out of the water. After that, I went up the hill and over a bridge. I stopped for a moment and looked down. I could see some ducks under the bridge. I also saw some flowers floating on top of the water. Above me, in the sky, were a few clouds which reflected in the water. When I finally got to the park, I sat down on a bench and rested.

Assignment: Take a walk from the O'Keefe Building to another place on campus. Write as many descriptions as you can telling the directions you took and using prepositions of place. Bring these to the computer lab for your writing assignment on Wednesday.
